2024 SHINING STARS
City of Carrollton increased the total number of electric vehicles by 25 percent.
City of Dallas had over 15 percent of new vehicles purchased in 2023 powered by alternative fuel.
City of Fort Worth reduced an estimated 33,000 gallons of diesel.
City of Frisco implemented an alternative fuel vehicle survey for new purchases.
City of Grand Prairie increased the total number of electric vehicles by 25 percent.
City of Lewisville had over 15 percent of new vehicles purchased in 2023 powered by alternative fuel.
DFW International Airport increased renewable natural gas supply to 82 percent.
The cities of Carrollton, Cedar Hill, Lancaster, Lewisville, Rockwall, and Watauga were recognized for ten years of fleet reporting.

HOW TO GET RECOGNIZED
Each fleet can earn up to 100 points, based on information reported in the annual survey and knowledge that Coalition staff have of fleet activities/initiatives. The table below summarizes the criteria our committee used to determine fleet scores.
2024 AWARD LEVELS
- Gold 45-100
- Silver 35-44
- Bronze 25-34
Shining Star Awards are given to fleets who demonstrate the greatest progress in specific areas that Coalition staff would like to recognize. Shining Stars are awarded based upon information reported in the annual survey. Winners are selected based on either the greatest total progress or percentage improvement from the previous year.
Fleet Challenge Awards are given to fleets who met or exceeded quantifiable goals set for themselves in the previous year’s annual survey. Self-imposed fleet goals may include measures such as reducing fuel consumption, improving fuel economy, increasing number of alternative fuel vehicles, or increasing overall alternative fuel volume.
To be recognized, fleets must complete the annual survey and have adopted the Clean Fleet Policy. Recognized fleets receive an award, stickers for their vehicles, electronic versions of sticker graphics for the web, and a paperweight (Gold only). Fleets recognized for ten years of fleet reporting receive a wooden plaque.
