DFW Clean Cities Charging
Smart Program
Charging Smart is a new technical assistance and designation program that recognizes communities for electric vehicle (EV) readiness. Through the framework of this program, cities can streamline planning, permitting, and inspections to more quickly and easily deploy EV charging infrastructure. Dallas-Fort Worth Clean Cities (DFWCC) will provide personalized, no-cost technical assistance to local governments in setting and achieving EV readiness goals. Local governments can achieve national designation by completing various criteria, as outlined in the graphic below. To learn more, please read NCTCOG’s Press Release and IREC’s Charging Smart webpage.

To participate in this program or if you have any questions, please email cleancities@nctcog.org. Interested cities will be sent a Self-Assessment survey and a Commitment Letter to complete and return to DFWCC. The Self- Assessment survey gauges how far along a city is in becoming EV-ready, while the Commitment Letter confirms a city’s interest in pursuing Charging Smart designation. Once the Commitment Letter is signed and the Self-Assessment is completed, guidance through the program will commence.
